And while we’re on the topic of self-aware thinking, self-awareness, and self-aware awareness, here’s a really great intro to what self-awareness means.
If you think about it, self-awareness isn’t about thinking of yourself as self-aware, but instead about being aware of our own thoughts and actions. It should go without saying that self-awareness is a very subjective thing, but one that seems to be hard to define. As we discussed, there are many different levels of awareness, and a person just being aware of one of them could be a lot different than someone who is fully aware of every thought and action they do.
Thats an important point. Being aware of your own thoughts and behaviors can be extremely beneficial, but being aware of your thoughts and behaviors can also be very negative. You could be aware of your negative thoughts and behaviors, but be unaware of how you were actually reacting. On the other hand, you could be fully aware of all your thoughts and be unaware of how you were actually reacting. That’s a pretty slippery slope and not something that should be taken lightly.
If you’re using a computer, using a keyboard, or using a headset then you’re probably not aware of your own thoughts and behaviors. You have to look at your own thoughts and behaviors. If you can’t control your thoughts and behaviours, then you’re not doing enough to protect yourself.
I think it’s great that you care so much about your thoughts and behaviors. I think it’s great that you’re able to control those. I think it’s great that you can take responsibility for them, and be able to tell yourself that its your fault. But I also think it’s a little disingenuous that you say youre willing to sacrifice your freedom to protect others.
I believe in the value of freedom. I don’t believe in the value of being a slave to my thoughts. I think we all have our own thoughts and behaviors that we wish to control. I don’t think you have the right to tell me you dont have the right to control those thoughts. That would be like saying you dont have the right to control your eating habits.
That’s an argument, and a really good one, but it all depends on what you mean by “control”. If you mean you can control what you’ll eat, then there are plenty of foods you can choose to eat without worrying about whether or not you’re depriving others of their food.
