What’s going on here? The conversion from $2.40 to $2.80 is a classic example of the first-pass effect because it’s easy to confuse the price that you see with the price that you’re actually paying. The first time you pay $2.40 for a cup of coffee, it’s easy to think, “Oh, I paid $2.40 for that” when in fact it could be $2.
This is a classic example of what I call the conversion effect. A conversion is when a product is priced in dollars and then converted to a different currency. When a customer converts a $2.40 cup of coffee, they are actually paying $2.40 (or more) dollars per cup of coffee. However, when they convert the same cup into dollars, they are actually paying $2.40 (or more) dollars per cup of coffee. The first time you pay $2.
conversion is also a very real, if annoying, experience. There’s a lot of “conversion” in the world, from which I don’t want to exclude the coffee variety. The conversion of one cup of coffee to $2.40 is not a conversion, and it’s not a good one. How are you supposed to know that they are paid $2.40 when you’re already paying $2.
The conversion is one of the most frustrating things you do to a web developer. The most annoying part is that it always means you have to pay for the conversion. I have been in the gaming industry for a while, and I’ve never had that sort of experience. The biggest pain I’ve had is this one time where I was stuck with the conversion for a year and a half because I was willing to pay to use a lot more than I actually needed.
I just paid a programmer to convert my game to a php framework. He spent the whole day with me and made me feel like i was his only client. I hope we can continue this for years to come, because its a ton of money.
In the end though, converting your game to a framework is a lot simpler than converting to a game engine, especially if you understand what the difference is. When you do the conversion your game engine will still be tied to your database, but since your game is being converted, you can now use any language that fits your game the best.
That’s because you’re not creating a game, you’re creating an environment. So if you want to convert to a framework, it’s probably best to start with a framework first. But if you don’t know what framework you need, you can always just make it your own.
